Great happiness and hugs with the arrival of Vince & Noelle, Boden and
Colby. The Maitai Hotel (in Rangiroa where Vince and family are staying)
has great snorkeling and free kayaks so everyone gets into the Polynesian life
right away.
July 29 we had
super fantastic snorkeling at "The Aquarium" just inside the
pass. The kids are expert snorkelers.
July 30
Vince's family visited the Gauguin Pearl Farm, bought pearls for Noelle and
learned all about farming black pearls.
July 31 we begin
our sojourn into the atoll discovering lots of critters on the
reef.
Aug 1 we
arrive at Blue Lagoon by two motus which turn out to be "Blue Lorikeet
City". The snorkeling is unimpressive in the Blue Lagoon but we are
awfully spoiled (so they lack normal perspective).
From Colby: Dad got sick and I got sick. And Boden got sick and Mom got sick and gramma got sick but grampa lived through it. We don't feel good but everything is good in spite of it.
From Vince, Noelle & Lynne: We think it was lettuce or something from the hotel dining room. On a different note, Boden's illness was him finally getting the same temperature and cough illness that the rest of their family had before getting to Rangiroa.
